I recently had the pleasure of photographing the beautiful wedding of Ashley and Matthew Evans. The venue was the stunning new marquee at the equally beautiful Bryn Meadows Golf Hotel and Spa. I arrived to the busy bridal suite to find Ashley and her bridesmaids preparing for the day and took the opportunity to photograph her dress and her beautiful flowers and shoes (complete with a lucky sixpence).

As the boys were also getting ready at the hotel, I had the chance to catch up with a remarkably relaxed Matthew, dressed in his suit and ready for some pre-wedding shots. The forecast for the day was not looking promising and I had packed lots of umbrellas to be used by those who wanted to brave the rain for photos. Fortunately, we did not have to use them, against all the odds and the predictions we ended up having beautiful weather and I was looking for shade rather than shelter; I wished I’d packed the parasol!
Bryn Meadows Wedding
After a beautiful ceremony, the couple were married by a family friend, there was time for a celebratory drink before we headed out into the very unexpected sunshine to take some shots of the couple in the stunning Bryn Meadows grounds. There was golf being played and a cry of “fore” alerted us to an ongoing game so we quickly moved out of the way and enjoyed the stroll along the fairways.

When we returned it was time for speeches and the wedding breakfast, I used this time to share one or two super early sneaky peeks with Ashley. As the afternoon turned to evening I noticed the most beautiful light coming from the sunset and persuaded Ashley and Matthew out for a few more photographs, golden hour is a photographer’s dream and it didn’t disappoint on this evening.

When we got back inside Ashley realised she had not got a shot of her garter. This was a fun shot and I love it. With all of the couple’s requested shots done, it was time to party. The first dance was followed by great tune and it seemed the whole wedding party was on the floor. I’m sure that the party went on into the night but despite Matthew’s (slightly tipsy) instance I should stay and dance (he dragged me onto the dancefloor and I think I make an appearance in the wedding video), I reluctantly decided to head home and begin work on their photos.
